A large number of engineering aspirants protested outside the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) office in Hyderabad demanding a change in the schedule of examination for the AEE recruitment test. They said the Telangana AEE and Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer (SSC JE) examinations are scheduled around the same date, November 6, making it difficult for students to prepare for both competitive exams.
The protest shows how engineering graduates are coming to attention that there is growing interest in government recruitment tests as they want a fair opportunity to appear for government recruitment tests without having to choose between examinations.
Why are students protesting?
The main demand of the protesters is to reschedule the TGPSC AEE examination for the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Department. Those trying to prepare for the state-level AEE recruitment and the central government’s SSC JE exam also need to do so and there is likely to be an overlap of their exams.
For many unemployed engineering graduates, these exams are opportunities to get government jobs. Aspirants spend months preparing for competitive tests, so if there is a clash on the examination date, they may have trouble with it.
Protesters called on the commission to consider the difficulties experienced by candidates and to schedule the process to allow students to participate in both recruitment processes and to provide a new schedule that would allow them to participate in both recruitment processes.
Students Raise Slogans Against TGPSC
Students raised slogans against TGPSC and asked for an extension of the examination dates and rescheduling. Police were stationed at the protest site outside the commission’s office.
The candidates contacted the authorities to raise their concerns and to avoid losing an opportunity when two exams are too close together as aspirants fail to get a chance because of the time gap between exams.
The need is more widespread than it has ever been for job seekers regarding recruitment schedules, available vacancies, and the difficulties faced by candidates preparing for multiple government exams.

What is the TGPSC AEE examination?
The Telangana Public Service Commission conducts recruitment for various government departments of the state. The AEE exam is intended to recruit Assistant Executive Engineers in the Roads and Buildings Department.
According to the published examination schedule, the AEE Civil recruitment test is planned for November 6 and 7, 2026, in computer-based test mode. The SSC JE exam is a separate recruitment examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for Junior Engineer posts in eligible government departments and organisations.
For both recruitment processes, candidates who wish to apply must follow the official notifications for their examinations, including the confirmed dates, shifts, and examination instructions.
Will TGPSC change the Exam Dates?
The students have asked TGPSC to revise the schedule of exams so candidates who are preparing for both exams can attend them. But a change should not be taken as confirmed unless the commission gives a notification.
Aspirants should regularly check the official TGPSC website and the SSC website for updates on examination dates, admit cards, and other instructions.
The protesters’ immediate demand is clear: the authorities should consider the examination clash and give candidates an opportunity to compete for government engineering jobs.
