Darshan's 'The Devil' Gets U/A Certificate and Final Runtime Confirmed Ahead of Release

Darshan's highly anticipated movie, 'The Devil,' has finally received its censor certificate, paving the way for its planned release tomorrow, December 11. The film was certified with a 'U/A' rating, just hours before its grand theatrical debut, ending a period of speculation regarding its clearance.

Despite the late censoring, advance bookings for the film have been robust, particularly in cities like Bangalore. However, the film crew's delay in sending the movie to the censor board—reportedly due to unfinished post-production work—caused a temporary hiccup. Major multiplex chains, including PVR and Inox, initially held off on advance bookings, adopting a cautious approach until the official certificate was issued. With the 'U/A' certificate now in hand, which permits viewers above 16 years of age to watch the film and recommends parental supervision for those under 16, the multiplexes have started their advance sales.

The final runtime of the action-packed drama has been confirmed to be 2 hours and 49 minutes (169 minutes). With the censor board's green signal and reports suggesting the movie has already been uploaded to UFO for distribution, the release of 'The Devil' is now expected to proceed smoothly on December 11.

Directed by Milana Prakash, the movie stars Darshan alongside Rachana Rai as the heroine. The ensemble cast also features talented actors like Achyut Kumar, Vinay Gowda, and the Gilli Nata. Although the release was initially rumored to be December 12, the team moved it up to the 11th due to the overwhelming insistence and enthusiasm of Darshan's massive fan base.
