Konnakol- Zayn Malik Global pop superstar released his 5th studio album. Its 15-track effort has already been recognised as one of his most culturally sensitive and sonically ambitious work so far and is available to download through Mercury Records. With Konnakol, Zayn is definitely more of a South Asian kid with a lot more old school vocal delivery and rhythmic stuff but also kind of with this pop/R&B kind of vibe and it just seems right in the moment. These elements were a bit apparent in his previous pieces, particularly his debut album, Mind of Mine, but with this fresh release you focus on them more distinctly, and intentionally.
Zayn collaborated with Malay, a fellow long-time collaborator who also collaborated on Icarus Falls. You collaborate on a soundscape that balances experimental textures and mainstreamness. Painted with a snow leopard represents strength and cultural identity which reflects Zayn’s sense of his roots on the album. Its signature item is the opening track, “Nusrat,” which is a tribute to Pakistani musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
It establishes the tone with the album’s focus on vocal depth and emotional resonance. Songs such as “Die For Me” and “Sideways” came before each piece. Konnakol has also jammed in “Side Effects,” a smooth R&B pop cut including Zayn’s falsetto, and “Fatal,” dance ready for performance at the high octane. “Breathe,” by contrast, is a gentler, quieter version.
Zayn's attempt to make his album bigger than before has had The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Drew Barrymore Show, appearing on April 21, 2026 and April 23, 2026, respectively.

Massive return news is coming from the mainstream media for the artist. Beginning May 12, 2026 Zayn's biggest solo tour so far will be The KONNAKOL Tour in Manchester. The worldwide tour ranges from major cities London to Los Angeles, Mexico City, São Paulo, with Miami being the final stretch on Nov. 20. Zayn’s Las Vegas residency kicked off earlier this year, with pre-teaser clips of previously unreleased songs that were on-record in the record preview presentation. On the album Konnakol, Zayn also performed with the singer Jisoo for a nomination at the iHeartRadio Music Awards of the BLACKPINK song "Eyes Closed", for which he received extraordinary international acclaim.
For Konnakol, Zayn also is pushing the envelope artistically the project unites worlds, genres and people around the globe. That’s when it turns into a monument to the artist’s evolution, of his own embrace of identity, his own creativity.
