A disturbing clip has also circulated widely on social media after the situation escalated in the Middle East. An Iranian news anchor speaks in a defiant tone in the video. The video has been utilized by critics and supporters alike to illustrate the “irony” of the situation. An analysis of the broadcast, however, tells a very different story.

The Truth: What Was Really Said?

It portrays Sahar Emami, the veteran anchor for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). It seems that the explosion in the studio was genuine but that the subtitles that are being broadcast are all fictitious.

Linguists and official translations of the original Farsi broadcast said Emami was quoting from history with references to previous blasts heard at a distance. She said: “The sound you just heard, that is the sound of aggression against the homeland. Aggression against truth and righteousness. What you heard, the dusty nature of the studio..."

While she was describing the broadcaster’s own strength, though, the hit landed in the IRIB headquarters in a second, much closer strike, shaking the ceiling off, and the signal went black.

Background: Strikes in IRIB (March 2026) Although the “Allah protects us” claim rests on a lie, the timing of these events is also obscured because of Operation

Epic Fury which is presently under way

On Sunday night of March 1st 2026, both Israeli and American troops fired directly on a series of government and media terminals in Tehran.

  • The Target: The IRIB, or “Glass Building,” in the north of Tehran, which is also the home of the regime’s state-run propaganda and news media.
  • Damages: The strike has damaged nearby Gandhi Hospital and forced IRIB to suspend its satellite communication.

Aftermath Emami and her team, in the background debris notwithstanding, resumed streaming in a backup studio, only minutes later, a feat that has since earned the Iranian government plaudits as a “symbol of resistance.”

Why the Misinformation Is Differing

Amid a high-stakes information war that involved Israel and Iran, “meme-ified” accounts of real events regularly spread more quickly than the truth. By inserting religious tinge into the translation, the creators of video-sharing viral clips were mocking the regime’s language but the anchors’ actual words, a familiar nationalist appeal, were taking root.

In Tehran currently, As of Tuesday March 3, 2026, the Iranian capital situation is tense. Besides the internet is largely not available, and all its major broadcast centers are now being hit. Therefore, residents are relying on word-of mouth and the underground radio network to get news of what is taking place and the alleged death of the Supreme Leader.
