‘15 Saal Saath Reh Kar...’: Chilling Note Found After Noida Man Murders Girlfriend on Valentine’s Day

In a blood-curdled tragedy that reduced "the day of love" to a ghastly tragedy, it was reported a man murdered his long-term girlfriend in an apartment on a high-rise property in Noida's Sector 107 neighborhood. His crime, which was perpetrated on February 14, had a horrifying effect on the next-door residents of the National Capital Region (NCR) where he lived not least of which was the finding of a chilling handwritten note by police in the old house.

A Gruesome Discovery

A creepy discovery came to light late Friday evening after neighbors reported suspicious silence and the door to the apartment had been left unlocked. Within, police discovered the body of a woman in her early 30s. The suspect, who has been with her for over 10 years, had fled before the police arrived.

The most disturbing aspect of the scene was a note, supposedly written by the accused, that appears to belong to the suspect. It started with: “After living together for 15 years...", then a list of complaints and accusations of betrayal. The note hints at a deep toxic sludge of resentment that erupted violently on Valentine’s Day.

Relationship Turned Fatal

Police investigations at first found the couple had been living in each other’s home for about 15 years. Friends and acquaintances said they had been in a long-standing relationship but recently had had trouble staying together because the couple constantly fought about the issues.

The accused reportedly felt “cheated” or “discarded” after spending a decade and a half with her, according to a note recovered by the Noida Police. Forensic experts say the murder was premeditated: The suspect chose a day when the apartment complex is crowded with revelry, adding a macabre flair to the violence inside those four walls.

Police Action and Manhunt

The Noida police registered a FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Multiple teams have been mobilised for the search for this suspect currently on the run: "We have recovered the suicide note on the body — or rather, the confession note. It details their history of dating and the motivation for that desperate leap,” said a senior police official. “CCTV footage from Sector 107 is also being screened to see where the suspect got out."

A System of Rising Crimes

This is just one piece of a disturbing phenomenon of domestic violence and crimes of passion in the gated areas of Noida, to name a few. It’s a grim reminder that when long-term relationships fall apart without a line of communication and grapple with mental illnesses they can sometimes burst tragically.
