It’s believed the car driver lost the car’s control, and that the car slipped and dropped into a huge drain right in the way on the road. The drain is about 20 feet deep, making the accident especially unsafe. Eyewitnesses added that the incident was sudden and shocking. Nearby neighbours rushed right to the scene only to hear a loud crash. They arrived at the scene to find a badly damaged car at the bottom of the drain, and inside, they found the driver.

Fortunately, he was the only one driving when the car was destroyed. Local responders quickly did the same, getting him out of the wreckage. It is believed their prompt action was essential to his life-saving. Later, the injured driver was taken to Vijayanagara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), a hospital, just after he was saved. He has received injuries but is being viewed by medical officials, officials say.

The particular condition of the driver has yet to be officially confirmed. The townspeople who live near the rural police station arrived and started researching what triggered the crash, the police officials at the station said. Preliminary indications were two potential reasons: excessive acceleration and loss of control.

Others, the road conditions and visibility among them, are yet to be tested. It is also being investigated whether sufficient safety measures surrounded the drain either barriers or warning signs were put in place. Residents said the public had cited a lack of protective measures, claiming that deep drains always pose a threat to people and cars, driving vehicles, as if they were doing this, especially at high speeds.

As with any kind of accident, it serves as a reminder that this matters at least on roadways with more likely harm than good potential. Drivers are advised by experts to hit safe speeds at all times, remain alert, and follow the traffic rules: these are the rules that prevent such accidents.
