A shocking twist has emerged in the deaths of a man and his five-year-old son in Bengaluru’s Chikkabanavara area, with police allegedly uncovering a murder conspiracy involving the man’s wife and her alleged lover.
The Chikkabanavara police have arrested Vinay, who is allegedly the lover of the deceased man’s wife, Harini, in connection with the case. They questioned Harini, who had at first been taken into custody after her husband Abhinandan and their five-year-old son Yaduveer were killed.
The incident, which was initially framed as a case involving the deaths of a father and his young son, reportedly took a dramatic turn during the police investigation. Officials allegedly found inconsistencies in the circumstances surrounding the deaths and questioned Harini in detail.
Couple had been living in Chikkabanavara
Abhinandan, a native of Kilar village in Kunigal taluk, was reportedly living with his wife and son in Chikkabanavara, Bengaluru. He was said to be the only son of his mother.
According to the information emerging from the investigation, a dispute reportedly broke out between Abhinandan and Harini over sleeping arrangements. During the argument, Harini allegedly attacked her husband with a sambar ladle.
The couple subsequently went to separate rooms, according to the preliminary account of the incident.
Police suspect that the events that followed were part of a larger plan. Harini allegedly contacted Vinay and called him to the house. Investigators claim that Vinay subsequently became involved in the alleged killing of Abhinandan.
Five-year-old son also allegedly killed
The case took an even more disturbing turn when investigators learned that the couple’s five-year-old son, Yaduveer, was also allegedly killed.
According to the preliminary details, the child reportedly woke up during the incident. Police suspect that the accused allegedly attacked the boy and subsequently suffocated him with a pillow.
The deaths of the father and child later raised suspicion, particularly after investigators examined the circumstances and statements provided by Harini.
Harini allegedly informed relatives and police
Following the deaths, Harini reportedly informed relatives and the police about the incident. Police subsequently took her into custody and began questioning her.
During interrogation, investigators allegedly uncovered information pointing towards Vinay’s involvement. Based on the information obtained during the investigation, police reportedly launched a search for him.
Vinay was eventually arrested near Herohalli, close to Kanakapura, according to the preliminary information.
Investigation underway
Police are now investigating the exact sequence of events leading to the deaths of Abhinandan and his son. Investigators are also examining the alleged relationship between Harini and Vinay, their communications and the circumstances under which Vinay allegedly entered the house.
The police are expected to question both accused persons to establish the motive, planning and individual roles in the alleged crime. Investigators are also examining physical and forensic evidence from the house, including alleged bloodstains and other material that could help reconstruct the sequence of events.
The case has shocked residents of Chikkabanavara, particularly because the victim’s five-year-old son was also allegedly killed.
