The deceased were identified as Raghavendra and his wife Shruthi, who had moved from Davanagere to Bengaluru in a bid to settle in the city. The couple were married after being in a relationship and had two children. Their children were at their grandmother’s house in Davanagere at the time of the incident.

The tragedy happened when Raghavendra and Shruthi were alone at their home; the couple had a dispute over Shruthi's habit of watching reels on her mobile phone, the newspaper reported. What appeared to be an argument in their house turned into a violent fight.

According to the police report, Raghavendra attacked Shruthi with a beer bottle and hit her on the head. She was severely injured and died in the process. Also, after the incident, Raghavendra committed suicide, and the domestic dispute turned into a double tragedy.

Contrary to what was revealed in this piece, it is known that arguments over the couple's habit of watching reels had been reported to have also taken place between Shruthi and her husband previously, and there had been numerous problems with it in their relationship. On the night of the incident, the dispute continued late into the night while Shruthi was watching reels and things got out of control, sources say.

The tragedy shows how a small dispute in a family can escalate into a really big tragedy. But the investigators need to collect all the evidence to figure out what was going on and why.

Based on information about the incident, HAL officers arrived at the house and made a first visit. The bodies were recovered, and further legal and criminal action was launched. Police will also investigate the circumstances leading up to the confrontation and the exact manner of the incident.

Investigators may seek neighbours and other people who knew the couple to determine if there had been previous disputes or other issues in the household. Other evidence available in the case, such as relatives’ statements and what police found on the scene, could also help police reconstruct what happened before the deaths.

The fact that the couple’s two children were staying with their grandmother in Davanagere has added another tragic dimension to the incident. Relatives have been informed about the deaths, and more processes are being conducted by the authorities.

At present, the police investigation is still ongoing, and the exact facts of the incident are not completely accounted for. At first sight, it appears the couple was in dispute over the wife's habit of watching reels, but the sequence of events will be determined by the evidence gathered from the scene and information gathered during the investigation.

It’s a painful case of domestic violence that is no way to avoid. The authorities generally recommend that people in very difficult domestic disputes or emotional turmoil seek immediate support from relatives, counsellors, or emergency services and not let conflicts escalate into violence.

The HAL police are still investigating the Bengaluru double-death case, and more details are expected as the investigation continues.
