In another disturbing incident reported from Bengaluru, a husband came to police to complain about severe mental harassment and sexual coercion by his wife. The complaint was registered at Amruthahalli Police Station and all concerned is now investigating the matter, said the officer-in-charge there.
He claimed he was tired of his wife’s alleged behavior that caused him stress and made him feel sexually inappropriate. If his wife, he said, harassed him constantly with verbal attacks or pushed him into something outside of his will he denied.
One of the main accusations is that the wife said he had physical relations with her as well as her friend. The complainant said that he found these demands so uncomfortable and unacceptable and sometimes even worse yet, if he refused, they had another go-round.
The husband also claimed that his wife would send him explicit videos and messages that he claims “were obscene.” This was in addition to the nature against which she was demanding he did so at times, sending him into the kind of situations he was not comfortable in. She would also bring up her past relationships, he said, which was what caused mental distress and arguments in the lives of the couple.
In addition, the suspect accused his wife of justifying her behavior, saying that such conduct was “normal in today’s times,” such as going out drinking and visiting with friends in ways he said seemed inappropriate. Whenever he took issue with her or refused to satisfy her demand (or what she did) he said, she would continue to pressure him mentally and emotionally like a mother.
Besides harassment, the husband said he had also given his wife jewelry before he discovered she behaves badly when she began acting like she did. He said she is refusing to return that jewelry so that he was now angsty.
Police officials in Amruthahalli confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint. It is still being investigated and some evidence taken to determine the facts in case as part of investigations are being provided in case.
Marriage disputes are complicated, so this case should only make us work towards getting to the bottom of all kinds of harassment, no matter what gender. Legal theorists say, although abuse or coercion cases tend to happen overwhelmingly with men, the law is there to help anyone experiencing these problems.
The details will also come to become clear as the investigation unfolds as people become aware of this, and the situation gets closer to this case we think.
