A shocking murder case has come to light in Bengaluru where a young woman was allegedly strangled to death by her boyfriend following a heated argument over marriage.
The incident occurred near Kodathi under the jurisdiction of Varthur Police Station. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Ranjitha.
Police have arrested the accused, identified as Ayyappa, who was reportedly in a relationship with the victim. Both the accused and the victim are originally from Ponnampet in Karnataka.
According to the police investigation, the accused was already married but had separated from his wife. Despite not legally divorcing his first wife, he had allegedly been living with Ranjitha after she left her home to marry him.
Police said the accused was working as a supervisor at a dry fruit shop near Varthur. The couple reportedly had frequent arguments about their marriage, particularly because the accused had not officially divorced his first wife.
During one such heated argument, the situation allegedly escalated. Investigators said Ayyappa strangled the woman using a wire, leading to her death.
Following the incident, the police launched an investigation and arrested the accused. A murder case has been registered at Varthur Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
Authorities are questioning the accused to gather more details about the sequence of events leading to the tragic crime. The brutal murder has shocked residents in the area and raised concerns about domestic disputes escalating into violent crimes.
