Facing the start of Indian Premier League 2026 season the public transport system in Bengaluru has become more responsive to Cricket fans. For thousands of fans attending the match and then following home in the late hours of a night. On match day metro services will end at 11:00 PM, but the last trains will not end until 2:00 AM from any terminal stations. Trains will also leave from the central station Majestic with all four directions at 1:30 AM to disperse as much as needed in all these areas.

To be even better, the ticket for IPL matches will also carry a QR code for traveling and two-way metro commuting during a match. Digital ticket holders can also access this functionality to make travel easier while without the need to purchase a separate ticket.

Officials have been telling spectators using nearby metro stations, such as Cubbon Park Metro Station and Mahatma Gandhi Road Metro Station for easy access to the stadium to avoid crowds near the stadium. That is supposed to help with a lot of people from more than one place, and to alleviate problems around the big crowd for it as well.

In addition to longer timings for the metro, BMRCL has also developed parking for 44 metro stations and this will reduce the congestion in the city itself by 40 hours before the last metro service is closed. Parking charges have been fixed at ₹30 per two-wheeler and cars to ₹60, applicable until the end of metro service hours.

Such an ambitious initiative underpins the best-coordinated effort by a city government to provide the fans with a friendly and not too painful experience. Thanks to the large volume of IPL fans who’re going to visit the city, metro expansion and infrastructure in place will be essential to help manage traffic and provide smoothness for the public.
