A terrifying instance of "rowdyism" has come to light in Bengaluru’s Mariyannapalya, under the jurisdiction of the Amrutahalli Police Station. What began as a case of sexual harassment quickly escalated into a violent, movie-style home invasion by a mob of over 30 thugs.
The ordeal began on December 14 when the victim, Pushparani, was walking to a shop with her husband, Shyam. According to the complaint, a 22-year-old youth named Karthik approached them on a bike. In a disgusting display of depravity, Karthik allegedly stopped in front of Pushparani and exposed his private parts.
The Retaliation: Cinema-Style Violence
When the couple questioned Karthik and objected to his lewd behavior, the youth did not back down. Instead, he mobilized a large gang to exact "revenge." Later that evening, a gang of over 30 "pudi" rowdies descended upon the couple’s residence.
The attackers, identified as Karthik, Swami, Michael, Deva, Kiran, Tun Tun Das, and others, arrived armed with cricket bats, machetes, and lethal weapons. The victims reported a scene of absolute chaos:
- Property Damage: The mob smashed window panes, broke down doors, destroyed CCTV cameras, and shattered flower pots.
- Terrorizing Children: The gang shouted obscenities and issued life threats, leaving the couple’s children traumatized and in a state of shock.
- The Escape: The hooligans continued their rampage until they caught wind of the police's arrival, at which point they fled the scene.
Police Action
Pushparani has officially lodged a complaint at the Amrutahalli Police Station. The victims are demanding immediate arrest and strict action against the 30+ individuals involved in the assault and outraging the modesty of a woman.
The police have initiated an investigation to track down the accused, who are currently absconding.
