Bengaluru Power Cut On December 22: BESCOM Announces Power Outages In These Areas; Full List of Affected Areas and Timings

Residents in several parts of Bengaluru are advised to plan ahead as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) and the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) have scheduled essential maintenance work for Monday, December 22, 2025.

The outages are primarily due to urgent maintenance and infrastructure upgrades at the Prestige Falcon City Substation and other key feeder lines to ensure a stable power supply for the upcoming winter peak.

Power Cut Timings & Reason

  • Date: Monday, December 22, 2025
  • Time: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Duration: 6 hours)
  • Reason: Quarterly maintenance and emergency repair works at various substations.

Affected Areas List

The power supply will be suspended in the following localities and their surrounding regions:

  • South Bengaluru: Areas surrounding the Prestige Falcon City substation, parts of Kanakapura Road, Doddakallasandra, and Yelachenahalli.
  • West Bengaluru: Portions of RR Nagar, Rajajinagar (selected blocks), and Vijayanagar extension.
  • North/East Bengaluru: Parts of Yelahanka, areas near the HAL substation, and pockets of Indiranagar (residual work).
  • Industrial Hubs: Small industrial clusters in Peenya and the Peenya 2nd Stage feeder areas may see rotational cuts.

BESCOM Safety Advisory

To minimize inconvenience, BESCOM has issued the following guidelines:

  1. Charge Devices: Ensure all mobile phones, laptops, and power banks are fully charged before 10:00 AM.
  2. Water Storage: Fill overhead tanks and storage containers as water pumps will be non-functional during the outage.
  3. Appliance Safety: Switch off high-power appliances like refrigerators and ACs just before the outage to prevent damage from potential voltage fluctuations during restoration.
  4. Helpline: For real-time updates or to report specific local issues, residents can call the 24/7 helpline at 1912 or use the BESCOM WhatsApp bot.
