Residents and industrial units in several parts of Bengaluru are bracing for extensive power outages scheduled for Saturday, December 27, and Sunday, December 28, 2025. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) and KPTCL have announced that the disruptions are necessary to facilitate high-priority maintenance and infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of High-Temperature Low-Sag (HTLS) conductors.

The most significant impact will be felt in the Peenya and Jalahalli divisions. On Saturday, December 27, a 7-hour shutdown is scheduled from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM due to urgent work at the 220/66/11 kV SRS Peenya Substation. Additionally, a massive 12-hour daily outage (from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM) is already underway in the Attibele and Anekal zones, continuing through Sunday as part of a four-day project to replace the 66 kV Sarjapura-Attibele line.
