In a historic feat for Indian aviation, for the fourth year running, Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) has become the “Best Airport at Arrivals Globally.” This award was announced as part of the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards 2025 by the Airports Council International (ACI) to support the status of Bengaluru as a global best gateway.
It's a significant title in that it has been entirely defined from real-time passenger feedback collected throughout the ASQ program, the gold standard for assessing airport customer experience across the globe.
Passenger Satisfaction: A Perfect Rating for Bengaluru Airport had a 5.00 passenger satisfaction score for the 2025 award cycle. That was much higher than the 4.98 rating it recorded a year previously. Travelers consistently praised the airport for how fast, easy and comfortable the airport was when they went from their jet to the terminal exit.
Some important factors that helped us win:
- Smooth Immigration: The short time to be detained at the border and the courteous attitude of the receptionists received great positive feedback from the public.
- Baggage Recovery: The rate at which passengers received and received of returning baggage, was rated consistently high.
- Digital inclusion: Biometric "DigiYatra" and live wayfinding provided ease of entering the arrivals hall.
- Terminal 2 Influence: The "Terminal in a Garden" (T2) continues to attract international attention for its soothing aesthetic and practical flow.
"Every Arrival is a Responsibility," we added. Girish Nair, Chief Operating Officer of Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), reacts to the news by saying that it has only the best attention to the need to be consistent as we work at keeping our planes in their own unique configuration.
“Every time we arrive is a responsible moment for us. “They crave predictability, speed and comfort — and so we model our operations to provide them,” Nair said. “To be recognised as the best in the world for arrivals for the fourth year running speaks to the consistency of our execution and the groupwork of our teams and partners."
High Traffic, But Global Benchmarking
The victory coincides with record-breaking traffic in Bengaluru. Even with the challenging airspace region and cancellation of flights caused by the ongoing Middle East conflict, BLR Airport was able to scale it. ACI ASQ conducts annual surveys of nearly 707,000 passengers at 400+ airports in 110 countries. The fact that Bengaluru is at this level is a reflection of its position as an international hub, as shown by its ability to hold a top spot in such a global pool.
A Banner Year for BLR
This fresh honour is part of the airport's extended trophy cabinet for 2026. BLR Airport was also recognized earlier in January at Wings India 2026 awards for excellence in the category “Above 25 Million Passengers.” The global reputation that the airport receives in terms of the arrival experience sets high standards for the rest of the industry as it announces the host to hold the Airport FAB + Hospitality Conference & Awards in July 2026.
