Cross allegations of sexual misconduct as well as counter allegations of blackmail were registered at the local police station in Bengaluru, where both police and other concerned parties filed cross-complaints in a serious case.
The incident occurred at a Vastu consultancy office in Vijayanagar vicinity earlier this month, alleged in the form of safety and improper use of professional services. ‘This is a 37-year-old pregnant woman whose complaint on Tuesday was referred in the name of ‘Shri Anantha Vedic Solutions’ which she reached out to on the 4th of April for consulting as per her residence”, according to her statement.
In the visit, she says the Vastu consultant known to her as Shanthakumar behaved inappropriately during an assessment of Vastu-related elements. The woman alleged that the consultant used inappropriate physical touching of her chest and stomach, and ambivalence.
She also said that when she did object to the wrongdoing, those people in the office verbally assaulted her. The complainant also claimed that she spent ₹15,000 in cash in a consultation. Her complaint said that there is a case registered at Govindarajanagar Police Station against Shanthakumar and others working for the firm.
The allegations have filtered into the police’s investigations, which have included interviewing witnesses as well as examining whatever evidence there is. The case proceeds through the accused's counter-complaint. The woman, Shanthakumar has alleged, along with a trio of associates who arrived at his office, demanded money from him, accusing them of conspiring to blackmail him. When he wouldn’t comply, they beat him and his wife, he said.
He claimed in a complaint that this same group also took a high-spec mobile that they forced out, a Samsung S23 Ultra. They alleged the sum of ₹1 lakh or so and claimed they’d threatened violence if they didn’t deliver for them and tried to defame him at any cost. In his complaint, he went on to say he and his wife were then allegedly taken to another road by an autorickshaw and attacked.
The counter complaint further accused the woman of behaving unwholesomely and that the lady threatened to falsely accuse him if he failed to make their demands of a serious offence. He said he got away from the incident and then asked the police to file a complaint. Police have been able to cross FIR registered and have a cross FIR registered on both sides of the case due to the foregoing.
All allegations will be reviewed, along with a medical report, plus witness statements, along with any digital or physical evidence, officials said. One reason the situation has grown so complicated is because of the degree that serious allegations and counterclaims are dealt with, and police must keep the investigation fair and impartial. Police have cautioned the public against over-evaluating an arrest, and said it expected investigations to include legal proceedings as a result.
