Bengaluru Shocker: Retired Navy Captain & Dentist Wife Killed by Son

A 33-year-old man stabbed his elderly parents to death after a domestic clash erupted in Adarsh Vista Apartments, Vignana Nagar, on Wednesday. Police said the assault was said to have resulted in his parents (60 and 55) being killed. The victims of the action have been recognized as follows:

Naveen Chandra Bhat (60) – retired Captain of the Indian Navy. Dr. Shyamala Bhat (55): An eminent dental surgeon. The couple also resided at an upscale housing complex within the HAL Police Station, where they shared living arrangements with their son, Rohan Bhat (33).  

The Incident  

Police reported that Rohan and his parents had a huge argument while talking about a domestic issue. In rage Rohan allegedly stabbed his father and mother with a knife, causing many stabbing wounds. And there was an awful twist when shortly after the attack the couple were sent to a nearby hospital. Both nonetheless died from severe injuries but were treated and subsequently deemed dead.  

The action of the Police and Investigation  

Rohan Bhat was immediately arrested by the HAL Police. The motive is believed to be a family feud, but officials are now interviewing the suspect to determine what exactly triggered an atrocity such as this. “The suspect is in our custody and an investigation into the true motive for this heinous act is underway,” a senior police official said.  

Daughter's Return Unplanned and Awaited by Family  

The couple also had a daughter living in the United States. She has been informed of the tragedy and is expected to reach Bengaluru by tomorrow. The deceased's bodies now reside in the Bowring Hospital mortuary, which will also undergo post-mortem examinations once the daughter arrives for them. The residents of Adarsh Vista Apartments remain in shock as police continue to search the crime scene for evidence.
