DK Shivakumar Unveils Siddaramaiah Statue at Haveri Convention 2026

During the mega "Bhoo Guarantee" (Land Guarantee) convention in Haveri on Saturday, February 14, 2026, the deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar in Karnataka unveiled a 6.5-foot-tall statue of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a gesture of solidarity and celebration. The occasion was a double-milestone event: the distribution of title deeds to more than 2.2 lakh families along with the 1,000-day anniversary of the Congress government in the state.

The "Tagaru" in Stone: A Gift from Gotagodi

The lifelike statue, depicting the chief minister in his signature style, sitting in front of Vidhana Soudha, was donated by Dasanur, who is the head of the well-known Gotagodi Utsav Rock Garden. When it was unveiled, smiling CM Siddaramaiah expressed his delight, saying that the craftsmanship was so great it felt as though he were looking into a mirror.

DCM DK Shivakumar, when unveiling the statue, praised the Chief Minister's leadership and the government’s accomplishments over the past 1,000 days. The action was perceived by political observers as a powerful signal of unity between the "Duo of Karnataka" amidst continuing rumors of infighting within.

The "Sixth Guarantee": 1,000 Days of Rule

More than a mere symbol, the Haveri convention was also an occasion to announce what the CM calls the "Sixth Guarantee" — the Bhoo Guarantee.

  • Title Deeds: The government celebrated its record distribution of property title deeds to 2.2 lakh beneficiary families across nine districts.
  • Direct Benefits: Siddaramaiah noted that the government has also credited ₹1,18,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of citizens, as part of a range of guarantee schemes.
  • Development Push: Though alleging "an injustice" at the Central Government's hands in releasing funds, the CM stated Karnataka remains a top performer in GDP growth.

A Message to the Opposition

Addressing a large crowd of over 1.5 lakh individuals, Siddaramaiah took the opportunity to question the silence of former CMs and current MPs of the opposition on Karnataka’s tax sharing. "In just 3 years we delivered on 243 promises," he said, explaining the contrast between his administration's "pro-people" posture and the past government's record.

The day ended with a grand communal feast for all attendees prepared by more than a thousand chefs to represent the spirit of the "Anna Bhagya" of the administration.
