It happened in the D-Cross area of Doddaballapur city, where Nagaraju, a resident of Arkavathi Layout, had parked his TVS moped outside a private bar before he went inside the bar. Nagaraju had parked the vehicle at the bar for a while, then left it at the curb. When he came back, he was shocked to find that the moped was gone.

Nagaraju and the others nearby began to search the area, but they could not find the vehicle. CCTV footage from nearby surveillance cameras was seen when the incident happened. The footage revealed the entire sequence of events and the theft.

A person had been seen near the parked vehicle and closely watching the area around with the CCTV recordings, the CCTV recordings indicate. Then, after making sure no one was looking at the TVS moped, the suspect came near the TVS moped and stole it in a matter of moments. The thief fled the scene in the stolen vehicle and went to Tourist Lodge Road.

The footage has since become a key piece of evidence in the investigation. Residents have expressed concern about the increasing number of vehicle theft cases in and around Doddaballapur. Many have asked the police to put more surveillance and patrols on duty in commercial areas where vehicles are often parked.

Two-wheeler theft has been reported in some parts of Bengaluru Rural district in recent months, and citizens should take extra precautions while parking their vehicles. Car owners are advised to have steering locks, anti-theft devices and secure parking areas, police officials say.

Following Nagaraju’s complaint, a case has been registered at Doddaballapur Town Police Station. The CCTV footage is being studied in detail, and police have been trying to find the suspect. Police are investigating whether the accused is also connected to similar theft cases in the area.

Public safety officials have assured the public that efforts are being made to catch the culprit and retrieve the stolen vehicle. CCTV footage will be crucial in tracking the accused and bringing him to justice.

The incident serves as a reminder for vehicle owners to remain vigilant and take necessary security measures, as opportunistic thieves still target unattended two-wheelers in busy public places.
