Her underwear, shoes, and vanity bag were found near Kalkere in Belur Taluk, resulting in suspicions of a serious crime.

Priyanka from Kunigal, Tumakuru district, had come to Chikkamagaluru to attend a marriage ceremony on February 12. The Mysterious Disappearance. The timeline, according to family members, also points to a targeted incident:

  • The Last Call: On February 12, 7:30 PM Priyanka contacted her family members by phone.
  • The Vanishing Act: She was reported to have left the Belur Bus Stand area by 8:00 PM.
  • The Assets: Priyanka was alleged to have been wearing gold ornaments valued around ₹30 lakh at the time of her disappearance. Both the woman and the jewelry have since been missing.

Shocking discovery and evidence tampering?

The family has mentioned a disturbing anomaly in the search location around Kalkere:

  • Initial Search: Family members believe they saw no clothes or bags when they searched the area on Monday.
  • Today’s Find: Her clothes, underwear, and vanity bag were discovered today at precisely the same spot, fueling concerns that an individual likely dumped the evidence recently. 

Family Slams Police Apathy

The relatives of the missing woman have been venting their fury at Arehalli and Belur Police and charge that a delay in recording the complaint may have cost Priyanka her life. "We have been running from pillar to post since yesterday to register a complaint, but the police have not acted. Perhaps if they had acted as soon as we reported her missing she might have been found alive.

Now, discovering her belongings here makes us fear the worst,” a distraught family member said. The incident falls under the purview of the Hassan Rural Police Station and the family is now seeking an immediate and very high-level investigation into a suspected abduction for gain or murder case.
