In a tragic incident, an Indian Army soldier hailing from Bagalkot district, Karnataka, succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident in Delhi.
Soldier Duragappa Madar Passes Away
The deceased has been identified as Duragappa Madar, a resident of Adagal village in the Badami Taluk of Bagalkot district. He passed away at an Army Hospital in Delhi where he was undergoing treatment.
Military Service and Tragedy
- Duragappa Madar had a decade-long career in the Indian Army, having joined the service in 2010.
- He underwent training at the MEG Centre in Bengaluru.
- He had been serving actively in the Army since 2012, with postings in places like Bengaluru, Allahabad (Prayagraj), and most recently, the Delhi Army Regiment.
- The accident occurred while he was on duty. He was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries following the road mishap.
- In a cruel twist of fate, Duragappa had secured leave and was scheduled to return to his native village on December 10th. He planned to attend the Konamma Devi Karthikotsava festival in his village.
Grieving Family and Village
Duragappa is survived by his wife Pooja, his sister, and his mother. The sudden loss has cast a pall of grief over his family and the entire Adagal village.
The mortal remains of the soldier are scheduled to arrive at his native village this Monday evening.
