The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026 were released by IIT Roorkee on June 1. Candidates can access their scorecards and rank details on the official website.
According to IIT Roorkee, there are 1,87,389 candidates for JEE (Advanced) 2026. Of them, 1,79,694 appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 for the exam conducted on May 17, 2026. Of the total number of candidates who appeared, 56,880 have been successfully placed in the examination. Among the qualified candidates, 10,107 are female students.
The successful candidates are appreciated, Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant, Director of IIT Roorkee and Chairman of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), said that qualifying JEE (Advanced) is the result of hard work, perseverance, and academic excellence of students, as per their study.
He advised all qualified candidates to come together and engage in the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2026 counselling and seat allocation process, regardless of their Class XII or equivalent marks. However, he also noted that final admission to IITs will depend on percentage-related eligibility criteria and other conditions listed in the JEE (Advanced) 2026 Information Brochure.
Shubham Kumar Secures AIR 1
Shubham Kumar from the IIT Delhi zone was the JEE (Advanced) 2026 topper. He won the first rank in the Common Rank List (CRL) with 330 out of 360 marks.
The second rank was taken by Kabeer Chhillar from the IIT Delhi zone, who got 329 marks. Jatin Chahar was third with 319 marks, and the IIT Delhi zone got a clean sweep in the top three positions.
Among female candidates, Arohi Deshpande from the IIT Delhi zone emerged as the highest-ranked female candidate. She secured CRL 77 with an impressive score of 280 out of 360 marks.
JoSAA Counselling Next Step
After the results are declared, qualified candidates can now participate in the JoSAA 2026 counselling process, which will decide the seat allocation at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutions.
IIT Roorkee has said that while all qualified candidates are eligible for counselling, final admission will only be granted after fulfilling the eligibility requirements outlined in the JEE (Advanced) 2026 Information Brochure.
Candidates should download their scorecards, verify their ranks, and track the timing of the JoSAA counselling schedule to ensure a smooth admission process.
