Millions of students across Karnataka who were anticipating the release of the 2nd PUC (Class 12) Examination 2026 results today,  will have to wait a little longer. The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has reportedly deferred the announcement to April 9, 2026, following technical hurdles and complications involving the Model Code of Conduct.

The Reason for the Delay

While the KSEAB was initially prepared to announce the results today, two primary factors led to the sudden postponement:

  1. Technical Constraints: Officials cited minor technical synchronization issues in the result portal as a reason for the initial delay.
  2. Election Code of Conduct: With by-elections scheduled for the Davanagere South and Bagalkot Assembly constituencies on April 9, the Model Code of Conduct is currently in effect in several parts of the state. Typically, the Education Minister announces the results via a press conference. However, due to the code of conduct, the Minister requires explicit permission from the Election Commission to preside over the official announcement.

Key Statistics for 2026

The 2nd PUC examinations were conducted across the state from February 28 to March 17, 2026. This year, a staggering 7,10,363 students appeared for the exams across the Science, Commerce, and Arts streams. The delay has caused a sense of anxiety among the student community, but officials have assured that all preparations are now nearly complete for the new date.
