According to the board results, 49,351 students appeared for SSLC Examination-2. Of them, 31,080 passed the exam, resulting in a 62 per cent pass rate. The success has brought relief to thousands of students who were looking to improve their scores after the first examination.

The second exam results show that 8,385 school students were able to improve their academic performance. The supplementary exam system has again been beneficial for students who want to improve their marks and their overall academic records.

Earlier this year, the results of SSLC Examination-1 for the academic year 2025-26 were announced on April 23. The first exam had an excellent pass percentage of 94.1 per cent, with 770,209 students who appeared for the examination and 724,794 passed.

Girls’ performance continued to surpass boys’ in SSLC Examination-1 results. Girls got a 96.18 per cent pass percentage and boys 91.94 per cent. This was a good academic performance in the state and showed the continuing improvement in education.

District-wise, Dakshina Kannada was the best-performing district in Karnataka with a pass percentage of 98.40 per cent. Udupi secured the second position with a pass percentage of 98.18 per cent, followed by Uttara Kannada, which recorded 98.09 per cent and secured the third place. Hassan district ranked fourth with a pass percentage of 97.51 per cent.

Students may not have performed as well as they would have on the first attempt, education officials said. It is a great way to improve the scores without losing an academic year, and it allows them to be in higher education.

The state government has also confirmed that there will be no SSLC Examination-3 for the present academic year. The decision was already made by former Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa at a press conference on April 23, in which SSLC Examination-1 results were declared.

The decision was taken because of the excellent performance of the first examination itself. With a pass rate of more than 94 per cent and a large number of students who were able to improve their marks in Examination-2, it was decided that a third examination would be unnecessary this year.

SSLC Examination-2 results are being announced on January 2, and board exams are concluded for the academic year 2025-26. Students who pass the board exams can go on to pre-university courses and other educational pathways for the next stage of their education.

Education experts have welcomed the result as a testament to students, teachers, and parents’ dedication and the quality of the state’s examination and assessment system.
