A woman police officer serving in the vigilance wing of SP BESCOM passed away in Bengaluru on Sunday after battling prolonged illness. The deceased officer has been identified as Lavanya N, aged 39, whose untimely demise has left colleagues, friends, and family members in deep grief.
According to sources, Lavanya had been undergoing treatment for health complications for the past several months. Her condition reportedly worsened in recent days, and despite continuous medical care, she breathed her last at around 2:30 PM at a private hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday.
Lavanya was known among her colleagues as a dedicated and sincere officer who carried out her duties with commitment and professionalism. She was serving in the SP BESCOM Vigilance department and had earned respect within the police and administrative circles for her disciplined service.
Her deteriorating health condition had drawn concern from senior officials and colleagues alike. Around two months ago, Director General of Police (DGP) Salim had personally visited her residence in Vidyaranyapura to enquire about her health and extend support to the family. The gesture reflected the regard and goodwill she had earned during her years of service.
Despite medical treatment and support from family members and well-wishers, her health reportedly continued to decline over the past few weeks. Doctors at the private hospital attempted to stabilise her condition, but she could not recover.
Lavanya N hailed from Doddaganjur village in Chintamani taluk of Chikkaballapur district, Karnataka. Her death has deeply saddened residents of her native village, where she was remembered as a hardworking woman who achieved success through determination and dedication.
She is survived by her husband, a 10-year-old son, and a 3-year-old daughter. The tragic loss has left the young family devastated. Friends and relatives described her as a caring mother, loving wife, and compassionate individual who always balanced her professional responsibilities with family life.
Several police officers, government staff, and local leaders expressed condolences over her demise. Messages mourning her death poured in from colleagues who remembered her as a courageous and humble officer who was always willing to help others.
