The ongoing investigation into the shocking murder of Krithika Reddy has taken a dramatic turn following revelations from the forensic analysis of Mahendra Reddy’s digital devices. According to authorities, Mahendra Reddy allegedly sent a series of disturbing messages to his girlfriend, which appear to provide insight into his mindset before and after the crime.
Forensic teams from the FSL (Forensic Science Laboratory) reportedly extracted over 10.34 lakh digital files, including 485 PhonePe chats, messages, and even deleted records. The recovered messages suggest that Mahendra had communicated his plans and intentions in a calculated and emotionally manipulative manner.
In one chilling message, Mahendra reportedly told his girlfriend: “After this, don’t message or call me. Once everything is settled, I will contact you. If the police ask about our relationship, say we are just friends. I have asked for help from him.”
Another message indicates his awareness of the crime’s severity: “I will soon go and tell my parents and her parents. I have no evidence with me, but I have killed Krithika. I will take responsibility, and then everyone, including you, will be relieved.”
Further messages reveal a disturbing sense of emotional detachment: “I am ending this here. Go enjoy your life. I will live peacefully as you wanted, and on that day, I will die as you desired. A killer can never be happy, and I will live my life like one.”
Authorities and legal experts emphasize that these messages highlight both premeditation and a calculated attempt to emotionally manipulate others, including his girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Mahendra Reddy filed a bail application in Sessions Court, which was subsequently rejected on Tuesday, following arguments from prosecutors emphasizing the severity of the crime and the evidence recovered from digital sources.
The FSL team’s findings, including deleted records and financial transactions, are considered crucial for the ongoing investigation. Officials state that the recovered digital evidence, including PhonePe messages and other files, provides a timeline of Mahendra Reddy’s communications and possible accomplice involvement.
