One day, passengers were sitting peacefully in the Metro. Then, a man wearing army-style clothes put a speaker on the floor. He played the National Anthem loudly. Everyone stood up. Some looked confused. Some looked worried. Some people were pregnant or not feeling well, but they still stood up. It looked like the man was making a video for social media. These short videos are called “reels.” People make them to get likes and views online. But this video made many people uncomfortable.

In India, people are taught to stand when the National Anthem plays. It shows respect. But in this case, the train was moving. Some people were tired, sick, or pregnant. Still, they stood up because they didn’t want others to think they were disrespectful. Many were afraid they might be recorded or judged.

There is no rule that says you must play the National Anthem on a train. In fact, it can be unsafe. If someone tries to stand and falls, they can get hurt. Also, using the National Anthem to make a video for fame is not respectful. It should not be used to get attention.

Many people online were angry. They said the man was wrong. They said he forced others to stand. Some called it emotional pressure. Others asked: What if someone was sick or pregnant? Should they still be forced to stand? These are important questions. This story teaches us:

  • Respect should come from the heart, not from fear.
  • Public places are for everyone, including people who cannot stand.
  • Social media should not make others uncomfortable.
  • National symbols like the anthem should be used with care.

The Delhi Metro incident shows how one small act can affect many people. Playing the National Anthem is serious. It should be done at the right time and place. We should respect others’ comfort and safety. Respect is good but it should never be forced.
