A tragic road accident on the Medahalli Flyover under the jurisdiction of K.R. Puram Traffic Police claimed the lives of three men after a goods auto collided with a stationary truck.
The deceased have been identified as Manikantha, Suresh, and Srinivas, all reportedly residents of Whitefield. They died on the spot due to the severity of the impact.
According to preliminary reports, a canter truck transporting potatoes from Kolar to Bengaluru had stopped on the flyover after suffering a tyre burst. The driver had parked the vehicle on the roadside and was in the process of changing the tyre when the incident occurred.
During this time, a goods auto traveling behind rammed into the stationary truck at high speed. The force of the collision caused catastrophic damage to the auto, leaving the occupants with fatal injuries.
Senior police officials, including DCP Nemagouda, along with K.R. Puram Traffic Police, rushed to the scene and conducted an inspection. The bodies of the deceased were later shifted to a government hospital in K.R. Puram for post-mortem.
The accident has once again raised concerns about road safety, particularly on elevated stretches like flyovers where visibility and reaction time can be limited. Authorities are investigating whether factors such as overspeeding or lack of proper warning signals contributed to the crash.
