Mohammad Nalapad, former Karnataka Youth Congress President, is going to be married again for the second time in a grand ceremony in a luxury resort in Kodagu, and the wedding will be attended by several political leaders, celebrities, and well-known leaders.
The ceremony will take place from August 15 to August 20 at Coorg Wildernest Resort in the Mekeri village, a hillside on the outskirts of Madikeri (a popular hillside in Karnataka for its vast beauty and excellent hospitality facilities).
Mohammed Nalapad, son of Shantinagar MLA N.A. Harris, was married to Samreen Salem in 2017. He will now marry Maliha Fatima, the third daughter of senior Congress leader S.I. Muneer Ahmed, who has served as General Secretary of the Kodagu District Congress Committee and as former Chairman of the Madikeri Urban Development Authority.
According to sources involved in the wedding preparations, the Nikah ceremony will be held on August 16 at 12 pm. There will be several high-profile political and celebrity guests in the vicinity. Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is expected to be among them. Reports also mention that Congress leaders, government officials, and some of the most prominent personalities from the Kannada film industry, like actors Kichcha Sudeep and Yash, will be among the guests.
The alliance is said to have been made with the consent and blessings of both families. The families of Mohammed Nalapad and Maliha Fatima have been in a good relationship for over two decades. Maliha Fatima comes from a well-known political family of Kodagu. Her father, S.I. Muneer Ahmed, is extremely well-known in the Congress party and is connected to the veteran Congress leader and former Legislative Council member B.A. Hassanabba. The friendship between Muneer Ahmed and N.A. Harris was key in the strengthening of ties between the two families, family members say.
Maliha Fatima is a law graduate and works for a multinational company based in the U.S. Her family members call her a master at her job and a good academic professional. There has been approval of both families for the marriage, and it has attracted much interest from the political and social world.
The wedding will last for five days and will contain many traditional rituals, family functions, and private events. The reception will be held on August 17 and, like the Nikah ceremony, only guests and family will be allowed to attend. The celebrations will be relatively private even with the presence of a number of famous people.
To cater to relatives and guests, the families have booked all 104 rooms at the luxury resort for the wedding celebrations, according to the newspaper. Family members will stay at the property for the five-day wedding event. Public access to the resort will be restricted during the celebration due to the elaborate wedding plans and security requirements.
Several prominent leaders from Kodagu and Karnataka have also been invited to the event. Among those expected to attend are the Kodagu District In-charge Minister Narendra Swamy, the Chief Minister’s Political Secretary A.S. Ponnanna, Madikeri MLA Dr Manthar Gowda, and Kodagu District Congress President Thithira Dharmaja Uthappa.
Mohammed Nalapad’s wedding is expected to be one of the most talked-about social and political events in Karnataka this year as there is an impressive guest list, a beautiful venue, and lots of days of celebrations planned.
