Smt. Sitharaman, India’s Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister, has helped steer the country through global turmoil as she presented the Union with a series of successive budgets since 2019. The event concentrated on implementing new programs to develop agriculture, health, education, and basic public services. She was confident that with the tough economic backdrop, some of the development efforts were still to be implemented and backed by the finance minister.

Key Points from the Meeting

Shri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar said, “Central support is crucial for the state’s green initiatives, agricultural growth, and rural employment generation.”

Shri Kota Srinivas Poojary called for the realisation of centralised initiatives to provide facilities for health, education, and public facilities.

Dr. C.N. Manjunath also commented on new healthcare projects and the expansion of hospitals, saying, “Working with the central government is imperative to ensure better health services for citizens.”

Constructive Discussions

Thereafter, discussions were constructive between representatives from the state and the central government, setting the stage for coordination of development. The Finance Minister directed relevant departments to make the proposals of the MPs.

Such a session is seen as another step forward in consolidating the political commitment from the centre for Karnataka’s development strategy.
