Located in Jewar in Uttar Pradesh’s Gautam Buddha Nagar district, the airport is strategically positioned to ease congestion at Delhi’s existing airport and improve connectivity across northern India. With this launch, India takes a significant step toward strengthening its position in global aviation.

Phase 1 Highlights

The first phase of Noida International Airport has been developed with state-of-the-art infrastructure, focusing on efficiency, sustainability, and passenger comfort. It includes:

  • A modern passenger terminal with high capacity
  • A runway capable of handling large aircraft
  • Advanced cargo handling facilities
  • Smart technology for seamless passenger movement

Once fully operational, the airport is expected to handle millions of passengers annually and significantly boost regional economic growth.

Strategic Importance

The new airport will complement operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport, reducing congestion and offering more travel options. It is also expected to enhance connectivity to key cities across India and international destinations.

The project is part of the government’s broader vision to develop world-class infrastructure and position India as a global aviation hub. Improved air connectivity is likely to attract investments, boost tourism, and create employment opportunities in the region.

Connectivity and Access

Authorities have planned extensive road and rail connectivity to ensure smooth access to the airport. It will be linked to major expressways and is expected to be integrated with upcoming metro and high-speed rail projects, making travel convenient for passengers from Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and nearby regions.

Future Expansion Plans

The airport is being developed in multiple phases. Upon completion of all phases, Noida International Airport is expected to become one of the largest airports in Asia, with multiple runways and expanded terminal capacity.

The inauguration of Phase 1 marks a historic milestone in India’s infrastructure development journey. With its modern facilities and strategic location, Noida International Airport is poised to transform air travel in the NCR and contribute significantly to the country’s economic growth.
