Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked by 90 Paise Again Within a Week in India

With global crude oil prices and the international energy market changing rapidly, oil marketing companies said the new revision is in effect.

The increase follows an earlier hike earlier this week, which indicates fuel price fluctuations are ongoing. Petrol and diesel prices surpassed important psychological thresholds in some metro cities following the revision.

Petrol prices inched closer to the ₹105-per-litre level in Delhi, while diesel prices jumped with the same result. Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and other large cities witnessed similar hikes.

Experts said the rising prices correspond to surging global crude oil demand, geopolitical tensions, and currency exchange fluctuations. Higher fuel prices could affect transportation, logistics, and basic products, which would increase inflationary pressures in a period of weeks.

Fuel costs are becoming hard to manage, customers and transport operators have said, and customers are frustrated by a series of rising costs. With the latest revision, freight-carrying companies, cab drivers, and delivery companies will face an increase in operating expenses. The fuel price by state may depend on the charge of VAT and transport. Users should consult the official fuel retailer portals to obtain updated rates in their own cities.
