A tragic incident unfolded in Rajkot where a 20-year-old youth and his friend lost their lives while filming an Instagram reel after their high-speed sedan crashed into a wall. The accident reportedly occurred late at night when the duo was attempting to capture a dramatic video for social media.
According to police officials, the victims were driving at an estimated speed of around 150 kmph when the driver lost control of the car. The sedan rammed into a roadside wall with tremendous impact, leaving the vehicle badly mangled. Both youths suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
Investigators said the pair had been recording a reel for Instagram moments before the crash. The phone used to record the video was recovered from the scene, and the footage reportedly shows the car speeding just seconds before the accident.
Local residents alerted emergency services after hearing a loud crash. Police and ambulance teams rushed to the location, but the victims had already succumbed to their injuries. The bodies were later sent for post-mortem examination at a nearby hospital.
Authorities believe reckless driving and excessive speed were the primary causes of the accident. Police have also urged young people to avoid performing dangerous stunts or filming risky social media content while driving.
