One 85-year-old man was found dead in Tattekodlu village near Nittur in Hosanagara Taluk of Shivamogga district under tragic circumstances, and police are investigating the incident.
The deceased was Ramachandra Rao, a resident of Tattekodlu. Initial information was that the incident took place in the early hours of Monday, and authorities estimated that it happened at about 1:30 am.
Police officials who came to the area immediately began to probe and take a first look at the scene. The officer said a firearm was recovered from the scene, and investigators are now investigating all aspects of the case to determine the sequence of events.
Ramachandra Rao had suffered a head injury after a fall a few days ago. He had been treated at a nearby hospital after the accident, family members and villagers said, but he was still in extreme pain and discomfort in the days before the incident.
