Siddaramaiah to Become Karnataka’s Longest-Serving CM: Supporters Plan Grand 'Nati Koli' Feast

Bengaluru: Tomorrow marks a historic day in Karnataka’s political story, as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah set to break a decades-old record. As of today, he will equal the late D. Devaraj Urs as the Chief Minister with the highest cumulative number of days in office in the state. For Congress leaders, workers, and "Siddaramaiah fans," who are preparing massive celebrations dedicated to the achievement, its celebration brings enormous happiness.

The Record-Breaking Milestone  

Late Devaraj Urs held the record of 2,792 days as the head of state. Siddaramaiah is equal to the number as of today, January 5, 2026. By tomorrow, Jan. 6, he will have had 2,793 days (during his 2013–2018 term and his current term since May 2023) and will have formally stamped his name as the longest-serving CM in Karnataka’s troubled political history.

Grand 'Nati Koli' Feast in Nelamangala  

The supporters have held a huge Nati Koli (Country Chicken) feast to commemorate the “historic victory.” The event will be held at two large locations in Bhaktarapalya, Nelamangala, which sits on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

  • Feast Menu: Traditional Nati Koli Sambar, Ragi Mudde, Kaalu Gojju, Rice, Pulao & sweets.  
  • Scale: The food is planned to be prepared over acres to cater to thousands of ordinary visitors and fans.  
  • Time: The feast will open to the public starting from 12:00 PM tomorrow.

Stage Program and Invitations of VVIPs  

Led by Kushal Harivegowda of Ahinda Yuva Okkoota, they will also hold a formal stage program with Siddaramaiah’s political journey and accomplishments. The organiser has extended invitations to CM Siddaramaiah along with prominent figures including Minister Satish Jarkiholi, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, as well as senior leaders in the Congress. Massive tents and food counters have already been erected to help enable the expected huge crowd to celebrate.
