Security forces have detained six terror associates in two joint operations in Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir. Hand grenades, AK-47 magazines, ammunition, and other material that is incriminating were recovered by security forces in Heerpora and Imamsahib, said officials.
The arrests are part of stepped-up security in South Kashmir, where security agencies are still following suspected networks and people linked to terrorist organizations.
In the first operation at Heerpora, security personnel identified three motorcycle-borne suspects. Junaid Muzaffar Dar, Aamir Yousaf and Junaid Bashir Dar are among them. Security forces also found two hand grenades and documents relevant to the investigation, they added.
The interception of the three suspects was done in conjunction with a joint security operation. The material and the accused are now being analyzed and investigated to determine their links and activities.
A second operation was conducted in Imamsahib where three more suspects were arrested. Security forces have retrieved one hand grenade, two AK-47 magazines and 20 rounds of ammunition, as well as other incriminating material.
