There are news of a shocking incident, where it is reported that the wife stabbed a 27-year-old man to death in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. It happened on Thursday 19th of February 2026, in Mangalagiri area, where a local community was in shock.
A heated argument over a television set had killed Sheikh Ahmed, a 27 year old AC mechanic in a brutal example of how trivial quarrels can evolve into irreversible disasters. It occurred at the TIDCO housing colony, Mangalagiri, where Ahmed lived with his partner, Kranti.
The trigger: Request to reduce the volume
The fight, local police reports say, started late Thursday evening, when Ahmed was home and on his Ramadan fast. Finding the volume on the television to be too loud, he allegedly requested his wife to lower it, so he could relax. But that simple ask led to an explosive argument between the couple.
Kranti reportedly grabbed a kitchen knife and went on alert as the shouting escalation escalated, physically assaulting Ahmed. He sustained a major stab wound in his chest and collapsed into a pool of blood.
Medical Intervention and Aftermath
Prompted by the scene, neighbors hurried to the house and rushed Ahmed to a private hospital in Chinakakani. Given the degree of his injuries, he was soon referred to the Government General Hospital (GGH) in Vijayawada. Ahmed unfortunately died of his wounds during treatment on Friday morning.
Police Investigation Underway
Mangalagiri Town Police has taken a murder case from the complaint of the deceased's mother, Mahabi. Kranti was taken into custody, Circle Inspector K. Veeraswamy confirmed in a statement on the media. Investigators are currently questioning whether there were domestic issues underlying the act or whether it was an outgrowth of a “momentary fit of rage.” It was a dark week for the region, coinciding with other reports of domestic violence, pointing to an alarming pattern of violence committed impulsively in homes.
