A tragic road accident occurred near Adiganapalli Cross on National Highway-44 in Bagepalli taluk, Chikkaballapur district, when a speeding car collided with a moving lorry. The incident took place as a canter lorry was making a turn on the highway, and a Swift Dzire car coming at high speed from Bengaluru rammed into it.
The impact was severe, leading to the immediate death of two passengers in the car. The deceased have been identified as Harish, the driver, and Shriramulu, who had recently been discharged from a private hospital in Bengaluru. Both succumbed to injuries on the spot due to the force of the collision.
Two other occupants of the car sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Chikkaballapur District Hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported to be critical, and medical teams are providing necessary care.
Following the accident, Chikkaballapur ASP Jagannath Rai and Bagepalli police visited the site to conduct an investigation. Authorities are examining the circumstances that led to the crash, while the incident has once again highlighted the dangers of speeding on highways and the need for strict road safety measures.
