A shocking case of violence has emerged from Uttar Pradesh, where a 17-year-old girl was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend and his accomplices in the Deoria district. The brutal incident has sent shockwaves through the local community and raised concerns about rising crimes against women.
According to police officials, the victim, identified as Anjali, was a resident of Nautan Hathiyagarh village. She had reportedly been in a relationship with the main accused, Shivam Singh, for the past four years. Authorities said that frequent arguments had taken place between the two, which may have escalated into the fatal attack.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening around 8 pm near Sahodar Patti Chowk. Anjali had gone there along with her younger sister and brother to get a mobile phone repaired. During this time, two youths arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and allegedly began assaulting the children.
When the attackers brandished a knife, the children attempted to flee in fear. However, the accused chased them into a nearby wheat field. According to reports, the attackers managed to catch Anjali, while her siblings tried to escape and run towards home for help. In a horrifying act, the accused allegedly slit the girl’s throat before fleeing the scene.
By the time the family members reached the spot, Anjali had succumbed to her injuries. Police were immediately informed, and a team arrived at the location to begin an investigation. The body was later sent for post-mortem examination.
Officials have confirmed that a case of murder has been registered against Shivam Singh and his associates based on a complaint filed by the victim’s family. The charges have been filed under relevant sections, including provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) Act.
Police have detained a few suspects for questioning and are actively searching for the main accused, who is currently absconding. Authorities have assured that all efforts are being made to apprehend those responsible and bring them to justice.
This tragic incident highlights the dangers of escalating personal conflicts and the urgent need for stronger preventive measures against violence, especially involving young individuals.
