Based on their coverage, Bengaluru received reports that a male in Bengaluru was lured under the guise of a birthday party and attacked by a group of youths from the region of KR Puram. The attack occurred Tuesday evening in Ayyappa Nagar, near KR Puram, and outrage ensued with the news of the attack.
"Paras" is a victim of alleged brutality, where the accused brutality was not only hitting, but has all been logged on mobiles, and the accused even went so far as to threaten to kill him had he told anyone.
Birthday Celebration as Trap
Paras was apparently also joined by acquaintances who said they would come for a birthday party and cut a cake, the police report said. Feeling safe, he met the crowd at a volleyball court at 7.30 p.m.
But by the time he reached the remote area, the accused had apparently become enraged and attacked him with a series of helmets, knives and a series of murderous weapons. Police reported that the attackers beat the victim for almost half an hour, and he was critically injured.
Attack documented via mobile phones
To add insult to injury, the accused allegedly filmed the assault on their mobile phones and then abused and degraded the victim. As the attackers continued their assault, they apparently got Paras to fall to his feet and beg for mercy, the complaint said.
At the same time, despite bleeding heavily and injuries to his hands, legs, back and body, the group reportedly carried out the attack. And they were also alleged to have verbally abused the victim during the assault and threatened to face severe consequences later when he approached the authorities or disclosed the altercation.
Accused Identified
The complaint attributes the attack to Pradeep and Sagar as part of a group that committed the attack. The police believe several others were also possibly involved in the attack. The video footage being considered in an attempt to convict the attacker could help establish the charges against the suspects in the attack as well.
The case is heard at the KR Puram Police Station
The injured youth returned to the K R Puram Police Station and filed a formal complaint via report immediately after the incident. Police have opened a case and initiated an investigation into the problem. Officials are trying to track down the accused and confirm the suspects’ role and the conduct of the events by following witness statements and digital evidence, investigators added.
Increasing Concerns about Rising Youth Violence Incidents in Bengaluru
The incident has led to a surge in group attacks on youths in Bengaluru. Residents have said social gatherings are being tapped into for social gatherings use like a lure, and have recorded assault videos for the purpose of frightening the victims.
The security service has promised it will do the same against the criminals, and likely arrests are attached to the proceedings, which have now been pending. But the victim is recovering from injuries, and authorities are sheltering him in the face of suspected threats the attackers have been making about his safety.
