Krunal Pandya Bowling Action Under Scanner in IPL 2026, BCCI Launches Probe

Krunal Pandya takes a bowling action in an alleged act of aggression over a cricketing bowler; no more news. The complaint that was levelled against Krunal Pandya before the Board of Control for Cricket in India resulted in a formal inquiry, which has been criticised in the wake of criticism of someone who was an all-rounder for the Rajasthan Royals, before some crucial fixtures.

Sources feared Krunal Pandya’s move to bowl was not a correct fit with cricket’s rules. Worldwide, there are international guidelines for bowlers not to bend their elbow more than 15° while delivering the ball by reference to international standards. Bowlers deem anything above this limit to be “chucking,” and consider it an illegal act.

After the complaint, the BCCI bowling action committee investigated the matter, taking the matter further than what any single bowler believes to have been found by the bowling action committee and investigated it fully. The first step is a rigorous video review of Krunal’s most recent attempts.

Biomechanical experts are scrutinising video footage of a handful of his bowling runs to assess whether his action remained within tolerable limits. Also, given that the initial results are a cause for additional concern, Krunal Pandya may also need to be subjected to a biomechanical test at a centre that is approved by the ICC, and potentially a centre, most probably in a city like Chennai or Bengaluru. It uses motion-capture technology to measure the elbow extension to a given length during a bowling session.

The results could have serious implications. If his act is found illegal, then, in competitive matches, Krunal must alter his bowling technique to bowl again. Anyone who also misses out on bowling could face a temporary ban from bowling that affects the team’s balance. And then that news put a lot of question marks on the table to prepare Krunal for future Rajasthan Royals’ IPL action against Delhi Capitals in the Rajasthan Royals’ new IPL match.

Management of the team is entitled to relieve him while it investigates without making things difficult. Cricket has also been no stranger to the controversy over bowling action. Now there’s nothing new in the way of controversy about cricket emerging, as you might on low press, on the game itself. Previous big media accusations of misconduct against Sunil Narine and Saeed Ajmal have been made public, and it was the same story with both the guys before play returned.

The BCCI has issued no official statement in the immediate aftermath of the complaint. But because the investigation is complete, it needs to take a turn. For Rajasthan Royals, at the moment in the tournament, it’s a super crucial time because every match plays a huge role in determining which playoff berth is determined. And in the case of Krunal Pandya, who possesses a good part of the game of both bat and ball, losing him could be a huge setback.
