The new scooter will help to grow the company's line-up by allowing for a more practical and affordable concept not to forget the premium technology Ather is known for.

The EL01 will be made public at Ather Community Day 2026, when the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle manufacturer will introduce its next generation EL platform. In the future, it will support multiple scooter models so Ather can offer more customers.

Unlike the sporty Ather 450 series, the EL01 seems to be for everyday commuting. The teaser image shows a bigger body with a comfortable riding position it’s good for families and daily city trips. A bigger seat, more storage, as well as usability and user-friendly design should be some of the main points.

Although the company has not disclosed technical details, industry reports say that the scooter could come with battery pack options. The scooter could have multiple battery pack options to choose from, which allow customers to choose a model according to budget and range.

The next generation of electric vehicles is also expected to benefit from this, and the new technology will be more energy efficient with low maintenance costs.

The Ather EL01 will likely feature a modern digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, over-the-air software updates, ride statistics, and multiple modes to be used.

Premium features including reverse assist, regenerative braking, and safety technologies might be included in the package, keeping Ather focused on smart mobility.

Performance is expected to be tuned for smooth and efficient urban riding rather than outright speed. That makes the EL01 an attractive choice for office commuters, students, and families looking for a dependable electric scooter for everyday use.

Pricing is expected to be competitive, and the scooter is expected to cost between ₹1 lakh and ₹1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). With this price, the EL01 could be one of Ather's most accessible models and will help the company become more established in India’s rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market.

When the scooter gets into showrooms, it’ll be competing with a number of popular electric models like TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Vida VX2, Ampere Nexus, and Ola’s family-oriented scooters.

Ather’s software innovation, build quality, and reliable after-sales support will also give the EL01 a competitive edge in this market.

As the scooter’s specifications, battery types, battery choice, range, pricing, and availability will be unveiled during the official launch event in the future, details of the scooter will be added to the product in the official launch.

For now, this teaser has attracted some interest from the EV fans who are waiting for Ather to make a first step in the development of electric mobility for India's electric mobility landscape.
