Tamil Nadu Rain Forecast for October 31

The weather department has predicted light rainfall at isolated places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Southern Tamil Nadu and districts close to Western Ghats may get brief showers more frequently but rainfall is not likely to be widespread or continuous.

Northern and interior districts are likely to be dry with partly cloudy skies in places during the afternoon and evening.

The weather conditions can differ between neighbouring districts some are briefly wet and others dry.

People who are going outside or travelling between districts should keep an eye on local weather forecasts as isolated showers may develop during the day.

Chennai Weather Today: Temperature May Reach 36°C

Partly cloudy skies and mainly dry weather is expected in Chennai on Saturday.

Temperatures Expected to Remain Above Normal

The weather forecast says that maximum temperatures may be 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above normal at isolated places in parts of Tamil Nadu.

The warmth will help to keep daytime temperatures warm though some areas may see light rain.

Humidity can also make outdoor conditions uncomfortable (especially coastal districts).

People who spend extended periods outdoors should drink water, wear light clothing and not be in the sun unnecessarily during hot hours.

Will the Northeast Monsoon Bring More Rain?

The northeast monsoon is an important rainfall season for Tamil Nadu (especially coastal and southern districts).

However rainfall activity is expected to be relatively weak across much of the state on October 31.

Isolated showers are possible but widespread rain is not expected during the day. Weather may change in the days to come and some forecasts suggest that rainfall activity could increase from 1 November onwards.

Residents should continue to monitor updates from the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai (especially if there are thunderstorms and lightning).
