Apple fans are eagerly awaiting the company's biggest product launch event of the year. The so-called ‘Surprise and Shine’ event is going to happen on 9 September at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. It will have all-new products in store (new iPhone, new Apple Watches, new AirPods).
This year, the event is also important because it is the first public product event Apple has had under the new CEO, John Ternus. Industry observers would be closely monitoring how the company plans to proceed with its forthcoming product strategy.
Where and When to watch the event
The launch will take place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. For the India audience, the event will begin at 10:30 PM IST.
Apple users and technology lovers can view the event live on Apple's official YouTube channel, Apple Events webpage, and Apple TV application. Millions of viewers worldwide will be watching the unveiling of Apple's latest innovations.
When iOS launch day takes place, the iPhone 18 Pro Series will take center stage.
All eyes on the event will be on the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. In some industry reports and leaks, Apple might concentrate its premium smartphone lineup at this event.
The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to be big. A mechanically adjustable camera aperture that lets users control photography and low-light performance.
The devices should also be powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chipset that is supposedly manufactured in TSMC’s advanced 2-nanometer manufacturing process. This will deliver a lot more performance, power efficiency, and AI capabilities.
Other rumored features include increased battery life and a new Sky Blue Titanium color option that could be one of the more prominent design changes in the line. Apple has not said any of these specifications.
Will Apple finally release a Foldable iPhone?
Another big deal ahead of the event: The possibility of Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
Reports suggest that Apple could introduce a foldable device that could be referred to as iPhone Ultra. It will be a book-style folding device like foldable smartphones already in the market.
According to leaks, the foldable model will have a 7.8-inch display, Apple’s A20 Pro processor, and up to 12GB of memory. And industry sources also claim Apple will likely use Touch ID on the side button instead of Face ID for the foldable device.
The camera system could have dual 48-megapixel sensors on the rear, although some reports suggest that a dedicated telephoto camera may not be included.
If true, the foldable iPhone would mark one of Apple’s most significant product innovations in recent years and could bring the company directly into the growing foldable smartphone segment.
New Apple Watches also Expected
In addition to the new iPhones, Apple will also announce the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 soon (October 16th).
While the Apple Watch Series 12 might receive incremental updates, reports indicate health monitoring features and sensor technology may be better. Apple has continuously extended the health capabilities of its smartwatch line, and new wellness-related features could be a key focus.
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 for outdoor enthusiasts, athletes, and adventure users will also be redesigned and improved.
AirPods 5 May Make Their Debut
A new generation of wireless earbuds will also be introduced at the event with the AirPods 5.
Although the details are pretty limited, we expect the new earbuds to provide better audio quality, better battery life, and better integration with Apple’s ecosystem. New AI-powered features and more advanced noise-cancellation technology are also expected to be included.
A Future Event for Apple
Now with expectations ranging from the iPhone 18 Pro lineup to a potentially groundbreaking foldable iPhone, Apple’s ‘Surprise and Shine’ event will be one of the company’s most important product launches in recent years.
When Apple unveils all its rumored products or brings new ideas to the market, the event will set the stage for the company's hardware strategy going into the year 2027. Apple enthusiasts around the world will be closely watching to see what form the new generation of products will take.
