Fortnite players are getting ready for another big update as Epic Games prepares to roll out the v42.10 update on September 3, 2026.
New content to Chapter 7 Season 4 will be added and nostalgic Fortnite OG content will also be in place. When will servers go offline and when will everybody get back to the game?
According to Epic Games’ planned maintenance, Fortnite v42.10 downtime will start on September 3 at 4:00 a.m. ET and 8:00 a.m. UTC.
Matchmaking will be disabled around 30 minutes before maintenance begins. Players will then not be able to start new matches before the main downtime period.
For players in the US, the downtime will start around 1:00 AM Pacific time, 2:00 AM Mountain time, 3:00 AM Central time, and 4:00 AM Eastern time. For players in Brazil, the maintenance is scheduled to start around 5:00 AM local time.
European players will see the update roll out later in the morning. The start is roughly 9:00 AM in the UK and 10:00 AM in Central European Time. South African players can also expect maintenance to begin around 10:00 AM.
For Fortnite fans in India, the key time to remember is 1:30 PM IST on September 3. That is when the scheduled maintenance begins based on Epic Games' 8:00 AM UTC start time. Players in the UAE can expect downtime around 12:00 PM.
In Asian markets, the update will begin at 4:00 PM in the Philippines and 5:00 PM in Japan. The maintenance window in Australia's Eastern Time region is expected to begin at around 6:00 PM for players.
The maintenance will last around 90 minutes, but the servers will return to Fortnite, and they may not be available to us very soon. Epic Games might complete the maintenance earlier than expected, and the servers will remain offline if there is more work to be done.
One of the main features of v42.10 is going to be Fortnite OG Season X content. OG material will likely bring back old Fortnite games to players who wish to see more from Fortnite's earlier seasons.
That update will also make its way into Chapter 7 Season 4, and there will be gameplay changes and seasonal updates as well.
When maintenance is over, players should update Fortnite to the latest version. Depending on the platform and internet connection, downloading and installing the new patch may take additional time.
