Galaxy S26 One UI 9 Beta 4 Rolls Out June 30: Final Update Before Stable Release

Samsung has announced that Galaxy S26 One UI 9 Beta 4 will be released on June 30, 2026, in different regions. This is the last big beta before the stable release of One UI 9 in July. All the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra can be enrolled through the Samsung Members app in six countries.

The Beta 4 update is so important because it incorporates Google’s stable Android 17 foundation which makes for smoother and fewer regressions than previous versions. Samsung has also maintained a fast two-week cycle between beta releases with beta 1 launching on May 13, beta 2 on May 26, and beta 3 on June 16. This fast cycle reflects Samsung’s commitment to a stable release on schedule.

Beta 3 solved some issues, including camera zoom at 30x magnification, cropped preview screens, lock-screen widget refresh failures, and privacy display toggle issues. However, it also introduced a regression in the Finder icon design, returning to the One UI 8.5 style. Beta 4 will be able to fix this and other refinements.

Besides bug fixes, One UI 9 also adds some new personalization options. The redesigned Quick Settings panel now has independent controls for brightness, sound, and media. Samsung has also added Creative Studio features to Notes and Contacts for creatives to personalize profile cards and documents more creatively with the Creative Studio interface. Accessibility improvements for visually impaired users and gesture support for those with visual impairment are also a big improvement to the interface.

Beta 4 is not just about polishing the features. It is also about Samsung’s overall strategy. One UI 9 is being tested on four flagship generations (S26, S25, S24, and S23) and the mid-range Galaxy A56 at the same time. This means it’s ready for a mass release and the same for all devices because that is ready for a wide-scale release so that it is consistent among them.

The excitement is great, but beta software can still be dangerous. Minor bugs, battery drain, and app compatibility issues may remain. Enrollment is region-restricted and Indian users may need to wait for official confirmation before getting beta builds. As always, it’s also recommended to back up data before installing beta builds.
