Oppo will launch its F Series smartphone portfolio in India on October 5 with its new Oppo F35 Series 5G. The company has confirmed the launch date and several camera-based features to be unveiled prior to launch date. The new generation of smartphones will also be released in the beginning with the Oppo F35 5G and Oppo F35 Pro 5G and we think the company will target group photography and selfies.
The new smartphones come just as Oppo marks 10 years of its F Series in India. In 2016, the F1 was launched in the country and it was soon associated with selfie photography. A decade later, Oppo is once again putting front-camera technology at the forefront of its new F Series launch.
When will Oppo F35 Series launch date?
Oppo has confirmed that the F35 Series will launch in India on October 5, 2023. There will be two versions, the Oppo F35 5G and the Oppo F35 Pro 5G. The release date and some of the key camera features are out of the question but Oppo has not explicitly announced any specifications (or the pricing) for the smartphones yet.
The company is promoting the next generation of smartphones as a new “Group Selfie Expert.” It’s about larger selfies to include more people in a single frame so that people can look away from the camera without moving too far away.
50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera
One of the biggest confirmed features of the Oppo F35 Series is the 50MP Ultra-Wide Natural Selfie Camera. The sensor has a 100-degree field of view so people can take a group picture and a wider portrait with that.
Oppo is also making NaturalTone 2.0 available with the F35 Series. The software is also designed to produce more natural skin tones and to give people in photos a more natural look. The feature is part of Oppo’s overall strategy of making portrait and group photography more realistic and not just sharpening the image.

Expected Price And Specifications
While Oppo has not announced the Indian pricing, prior leaks indicate that the standard F35 5G could be around the ₹35,000 price range. The F35 Pro 5G is supposed to be at a higher price point, ₹45,000 to ₹50,000.

Leaks have also suggested that there are different levels of dust and water protection and a vapour chamber cooling system.
The F35 Pro 5G would be a more powerful hardware package. Leaked specifications have pointed out the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Max chipset, an 8,000mAh battery and 80W charging. The Pro model would also have a 50 MP primary camera with optical image stabilisation, an 8MP ultra-wide rear camera and a 50MP front camera. Again, these details have not been officially confirmed by Oppo yet.
Design And Camera Differences
The two models are expected to have visibly different rear-camera designs. According to Oppo's teasers, the standard F35 5G will have a horizontal pill-shaped camera module while the F35 Pro 5G will have a more rectangular camera island. Both phones are expected to keep the wider selfie camera as one of the major highlights of the series.
The focus on group selfies is notable because smartphone manufacturers are increasingly looking at AI-driven portrait processing, wider cameras and computational photography. Oppo’s NaturalTone 2.0 seems to be in line with that trend, with the company emphasising realistic skin tones alongside the higher-resolution sensor.
