Vivo has finally disclosed when the V80 smartphone will be launched in India. The new V series handset will be launched in India on October 6, 2026, with the launch beginning at 12 PM IST. The company is betting on camera capabilities, premium design, high refresh rate display and big battery.
The Vivo V80 will continue the company's smartphone photography focus with hardware upgrades. Vivo has already announced some specifications ahead of the launch, but not all of them (e.g., exact price, processor, RAM and storage configurations) are leaked yet.

The Vivo V80 will launch in India on October 6 at 12 PM IST. A different design for the handset has been teased, and the smartphone will be available in three colours: Stellar Black, Horizon Blue and Sunrise Anthem.
While the full dimensions and weight of the device were not disclosed, Vivo's early teasers indicate that the V80 will be premium. And the design will be complemented by a large battery, making it one of the most prominent V series launches in terms of battery capacity.
Vivo V80 Camera Features
Photography is expected to be one of the major highlights of the Vivo V80. The smartphone will have a camera setup designed in cooperation with ZEISS optics. At the back, there will be a 50MP ZEISS main camera with Optical Image Stabilisation, along with a ZEISS Night Telephoto camera and an ultra-wide angle sensor as well.
The inclusion of a 50MP telephoto camera is especially helpful for portrait photography and zoom shots. Optical Image Stabilisation on the primary camera should also reduce the effect of hand movement while taking photographs and videos.
For selfies and video calls, the Vivo V80 will have a 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera. The front-facing camera will support 4K Cinematic Video recording as well as 4K video recording at 60fps, giving users more options for high-resolution video capture.
Vivo is also adding AI-powered photography and productivity features. The handset will come with around 30 AI tools like AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, Pet Pals and Snap Note. Such tools will bring to the smartphone even more editing and creative capabilities.
Vivo V80 Display Specifications
The display will be another big thing of the upcoming Vivo smartphone. The V80 will have a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED panel with up to 144Hz refresh rate. At a higher refresh rate, gaming experiences are smoother as well as scrolling and animations.
The screen will also support 1.07 billion colours and has a claimed peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Vivo also makes reference to an ultra-low brightness mode which could make viewing the display more comfortable in darker environments.
7200mAh Battery with 90W Charging
Battery capacity is one of the biggest talking points surrounding the Vivo V80. The smartphone will pack a large 7,200mAh battery which is considerably larger than the batteries commonly found in many mainstream smartphones.
The device will also support 90W fast charging. Vivo claims that the V80 can charge from zero to 50 per cent in about 30 minutes. A large battery and fast charging could make the handset attractive for users who prioritize long battery life and shorter charging times.
Vivo V80 India price and other details
Vivo has not yet announced the official India price of the V80. The company has also kept some hardware specifications under wraps like processor, RAM and storage variants. These could be revealed closer to the launch or at the October 6 event.
For now, the confirmed highlights are the 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with up to 144Hz refresh rate, 50MP ZEISS main camera with OIS, 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera, 50MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera, 7,200mAh battery and 90W fast charging.
