Devotees wait every year for the opportunity to get blessings from Goddess Hassanamba. The temple is famous for opening the sanctum sanctorum only once a year for a limited time period. This rare opportunity makes the annual festival one of the most awaited religious events in Karnataka.

Thousands of devotees have come to Hassan to see the goddess. The festival has also given a festive look across the city as activity around the temple and nearby commercial areas increased.

Special Darshan Tickets Generate Significant Revenue

One of the major sources of income for this year’s Hassanamba festival has been the sale of special darshan tickets. Temple authorities arranged special darshan facilities through tickets (1000/- and 300/-) to devotees, which were available at ₹1000 and ₹300 respectively so that they could have a separate darshan facility.

The special ticket system has been well received by devotees travelling long distances with their families. Many visitors have paid for darshan to save time and make it easier to visit during the busy festival season.

Different ticket categories have allowed devotees to choose what they wanted based on their convenience and budget. Ticket revenue from ₹1,000 and ₹300 tickets has been a major source of earnings for the temple.

The large turnout and demand for special darshan arrangements have helped push the festival’s revenue above ₹17 crore.

Laddu Prasadam Sales Add to Temple Earnings

In addition to special darshan tickets, the sale of laddu prasadam has also helped the temple’s revenue enormously.

For many devotees, prasadam after darshan is an integral part of their religious visit. Visitors buy laddus to take home and distribute to family members, relatives and friends as a token of the goddess’ blessings.

Demand for laddu prasadam remained strong throughout the festival. Thousands of devotees visited the temple, and prasadam sales have become another major source of revenue too.

The total collections from special darshan tickets and laddu sales have crossed ₹17 crore, said the information department.

Massive Devotee Turnout in Hassan

The annual festival attracted a large number of devotees from several districts in Karnataka. People came to Hassan from different parts of the state for the celebrations and to seek blessings of Goddess Hassanamba.

Long queues formed around the temple as devotees waited their turn to enter the sanctum and pray. The temple opens only once a year, so many devotees consider the festival a special spiritual opportunity.

The rush also brought activity to areas around the temple too. Shops, food outlets, and prasadam counters had more visitors, which added to the festive mood in Hassan.

Large crowds had to be managed; queue arrangements had to be maintained, and basic facilities for visitors had to be provided. All these were part of the festival administration.

Why Hassanamba Festival Attracts Thousands Every Year

Hassanamba Temple is special among Karnataka’s religious destinations because it has an annual opening tradition. Temples open all year round, but at Hassanamba Temple, devotees get a chance to visit the sanctum sanctorum only once a year.

This short darshan window forces devotees to plan their visits. Families, elderly devotees and people travelling from far-off places make special arrangements to attend the festival.

The strong response this year once again shows how religious the temple is and how popular the annual celebrations are.

Revenue Crosses ₹17 Crore

The collection of more than ₹17 crore through special darshan tickets and laddu prasadam sales is one of the major highlights of this year’s Hassanamba festival.

The revenue shows the huge participation of devotees and demand for facilities arranged during the annual event. Special darshan ticket system and prasadam sales have helped temple earnings as well.

All in all this year’s Hassanamba festival has been the best one as far as devotee turnout, religious enthusiasm, and revenue collection are concerned. The annual event is still an important part of Karnataka’s religious and cultural tradition.
