Shaik Seema is from Thosham village in Gudihathnoor mandal. She was admitted to RIMS Hospital for delivery and gave birth to a baby boy around midnight, according to reports based on information from family members.

But the newborn died at 3:30 am (a few hours after birth). Family members have alleged negligence by hospital medical staff killed the infant.

Relatives then complained at the hospital. Police reached the spot and started an investigation into how the newborn died.

The medical cause of death hasn’t been established in the information available yet. The family’s allegations will have to be examined by an official investigation and medical assessment.

Family Members Accuse Hospital Staff of Medical Negligence

The family alleged that the baby died within hours of being born so questions were raised about what medical care was given after birth.

The relatives have blamed the hospital staff for what happened and wanted to know why the baby died.

Local Telugu media reported that family members also protested outside the director’s chamber of RIMS against the incident. They went to police with a complaint.

However the allegations have not been independently verified. What condition the newborn was in after birth, what treatment he or she received and how he or she died have not been officially explained yet.

There will need to be an investigation into whether lapses in care occurred or that the death was due to complications which could not have been prevented.

Police Begin Investigation Into Newborn's Death

Police reached Adilabad RIMS after the incident and started investigating how the newborn died.

The investigators are expected to reconstruct the sequence of events from when the mother was admitted and delivered until the baby died in the early hours of 7 November.

Authorities can also look at medical records, treatment details and statements from family members and hospital staff to find out what happened.

The findings will be important in determining whether the allegations of negligence have any force and whether further action is needed.

As of the last reports available no official conclusion has been announced as to what caused death or who was responsible for it. In the reports reviewed we did not find a response from hospital administration regarding medical circumstances.

Another Incident Brings Attention to Adilabad RIMS

The latest newborn death has received attention because RIMS Adilabad has been in the news after other incidents involving patients and newborns in recent months.

A fire broke out at the hospital’s Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) in September 2026 and five infants died as a result. The incident led to investigations into what happened during the fire and safety arrangements at the hospital.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights then inspected the hospital and interviewed doctors, staff members and families of affected infants. The inspection also involved a visit to SNCU as well as other facilities in the hospital.

Another case was reported in October 2026 when a pregnant woman Sunitha died at RIMS. Her family alleged medical negligence and hospital officials said that a three-member committee would look into the circumstances of her death. Police also registered a case after complaint from the family.

These earlier incidents are not related to the November 7 newborn death of Shaik Seema’s baby but have drawn public attention to patient safety, medical facilities and healthcare services at the government institution.

Why Medical Investigations Are Important in Newborn Death Cases

Deaths shortly after childbirth must be investigated medically to determine what caused it. Newborns can have breathing problems, infections, birth injuries and other medical conditions that may need immediate attention.

Such cases need to be investigated generally in terms of the mother’s medical history, delivery records, newborn condition after birth and treatment by healthcare personnel.

There’s also a difference between an unexpected medical complication and negligence. A newborn dying after delivery doesn’t mean medical staff didn’t do their job we need medical evidence AND findings of an appropriate inquiry before making any conclusion.

In the present case the family has made allegations and police have started an investigation. The medical cause of death of the infant is still to be established.

Further Details Awaited From Hospital Authorities

Shaik Seema’s newborn died and family members are worried about the functioning of Adilabad RIMS.

The immediate concern is to find out what caused the death (medical cause) and whether the treatment given followed the required medical procedure.

The investigation may also help determine whether any individual lapse or institutional failure contributed to the incident. Any action against medical personnel would be determined by the outcome of inquiry and evidence available.

For now the family has claimed medical negligence and police have started looking into it. We need to know what is happening in the investigation and what will hospital administration say about it?
